So, you’re in the market for an off-road camper trailer, but you don’t know which one to choose. Here are some quick tips to get you started down the right track and hopefully back up it again!
There is a plethora of choices on the market these days and having a well-defined budget can really narrow down what’s important to you when it comes to picking your options. If a quick setup is more important to you than multiple annexed rooms, then a hard floor rear or forward fold camper in the same price range may sway your decision.
Consider your vehicle and how much you can safely tow. If you’re going to need to upgrade your rig simply to pull the camper you want, then your budget probably just flew out the window.
Where do you plan to travel? This will ultimately determine whether you require a camper with on-road, off-road or semi off-road capabilities. There are significant differences in price, options and weight so take specifics from where you currently get away and go from there.
Is it just yourself, or do you have a family? Does everyone need their own space, or are you happy to share the sleeping areas? Also, take note of how long and how many people are required to efficiently setup and pack down the camper.
How long do you plan to go away for? If you usually stay at places with full amenities, then you can save money by choosing a simpler fit out. However, if you plan on getting off the beaten track, then a good battery setup, gas bottle storage and perhaps an equipment box will all be high on your priority list.
Bottom line, do your research. Compare features between models within your budget and don’t compromise on the accessories you really want.
At Mars Campers we work hard to develop the best value for money camper trailers with a view of helping you create memorable experiences with your loved ones.
