After a year full of bushfires, floods, lockdowns, travel restrictions and future uncertainty it’s time for you to join thousands of other Aussies that know you don’t need to travel abroad to find adventure, culture, unique escapes or quality experiences with loved ones – it’s all right here in our own backyard!

Australians are known for their adventurous spirit, love of the great outdoors, mateship and passion for travelling.  Prior to Covid and the challenges of 2020 Australians spent 56.8 million nights caravanning and camping in 2019 however this is expected to increase dramatically with the uptake of young families and couples who are being inspired by all that this great country has to offer and the flexibility that caravanning and camping provides.

    Where To Go First?

Every traveler remembers the excitement of planning their first caravanning or camping trip; pouring over maps, researching destinations and everything they have to offer.  This feeling is recaptured before every trip whether it’s a short weekend getaway, a yearlong family adventure around Australia or you just want to pack up the van, hit the road and see where the journey takes you!

With all that this great country has to offer no one is ever disappointed whether it’s a planned or spontaneous trip – you could find yourself totally alone in a remote location making camp beside a beautiful river in the high country such as the Mitta River in North East Victoria where you wake to the sound of birds singing and the river flowing right outside your door.  The morning may start by throwing a line in the river with the hope of catching yourself a trout, going for a mountain bike ride through native bushland or visiting a local café for a gourmet breakfast made with organic local produce, the options are limitless.

Others may plan to stay in one of the many caravan parks that are located on prime beachfront land throughout our country where you wake to the sound of waves breaking on the beach, children’s giggles as they ride throughout the park embracing the outdoor lifestyle experience, the smell of sizzling bacon cooking and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee from your neighbouring van – what a way to start your day!

How About Something A Little More Adventurous?

For those a little more adventurous you may want to follow in Andy McKendrick’s footsteps where he and his family took their Mars Camper through four States/Territories travelling 5,250 kilometers over four weeks.  They visited our nations capital, Canberra, capital cities in Victoria and South Australia, regional towns and costal destinations in Victoria, New South Wales and South Australia combining overnight stays in both caravan parks and free camping locations.  The memories created on this journey will be cherished and remain with all the family forever.

Campers are known to be happier, more satisfied, optimistic and energised than non-campers plus it’s proven that caravanning and camping with loved ones bring you closer which is exactly what we all need after 2020, so now is the time to hit the road with a Mars Camper so you too can be happier, closer to your love ones and begin the journey that will provide lasting memories for years to come!
