So, we know that it’s the wet season up in the Northern Territory, but a lot of people still brave the weather and head there. Darwin is a really magical place all year around, but during January and the wet months around it, mother nature cranks it up a notch and the town and its visitors really get into the spirit of the tropics.

While there’s not a heap of events on during this low season, there’s still plenty of beautiful things to see and do. These are our top recommendations.

On New Year’s Day, you can enjoy a picnic or swim by the tranquil tropical harbor side while basking in the sounds of local singer/songwriter Mel Gray, performing a modern spin on Australiana lyrical favorites. Find more about it here.
